Be a person of high Value!!

"Give every man more in use value than you take from him in cash value; then you are adding to the life of the world by every business transaction." Wallace D. Wattles.

High value companies deliver high and above more value than their customers pay for their product and/or service.
The traits these companies possess are the same traits we can apply to go further in our individual lives. High value people contribute much more to their environment (job, business, neighborhood, etc.) than their cost.
Creating companies, community organizations and using ideas that create a high intrinsic value is extremely important in America today.
Jesus provides insight into this as he ultimately had the highest value product of all, eternal life.
"Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel's, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time; houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life." Mark 10 28-30.
In other words, Jesus was saying people following Him and proclaiming His message would be popular and wealthy.
Don’t put the cart before the horse.
One of the reasons former EBay CEO Meg Whitman left her job at Hasbro to run EBay in 1998 is she saw that EBay was growing fast exponentially and organically with low overhead costs.
Below is an excerpt from an EBay press release announcing EBay's 1998 fourth quarter results.
"Increased activity on the site was the primary contributor to the increase in revenues for the quarter. Gross merchandise sales (the value of goods traded) for the current quarter were $307 million, up 57 percent from the $195 million reported in the third quarter of 1998. The number of registered users increased more than 916,000 to over 2.1 million at December 31, 1998, an increase of about 72 percent from the more than 1.2 million registered users at September 30, 1998. In addition, eBay hosted over 13.6 million auctions during the fourth quarter of 1998, up from 9.2 million in the third quarter."
Basically Ebay was growing fast with almost no overhead.
This is what helped make EBay a billion dollar company and the same concept can help us become billion dollar people.
The more people use our products and services in an efficient manner, the wealthier we become.
As an employee, student, politician or business owner it is important to be a person of high value and deliver a high value product.
Ultimately, that high value product is ourselves.
Exponential growth is one of the common trademarks of billion dollar companies in the United States. As an individual, exponential growth is important internally as well as externally.
For example, one can achieve exponential growth internally through internalizing a large amount of wisdom and information. One can achieve exponential growth externally through increasing the number of valuable relationships we have.
Successful people have high integrity. My own set of guidelines is these two greatest commandments as well as following the ten commandments. This helps set my own integrity to a high level and increases the integrity of the people I'm around.
It is important to be around people more successful than myself so I can grow and get to a higher level in life.
For example, Beyonce Knowles was one of the highest grossing female artist in the country last year taking in about 87 million dollars. She would not have been able to achieve that level of success if her father hadn't mentored her. Her father had been a top salesman at Xerox, which is known to have one of the top sales training programs in the world. She learned from him and he has imparted a lot of knowledge to her. Helping her get to where she is today.
She is "standing on the shoulders of giants" as sir Isaac Newton once said.
When we seek out mentorship or knowledge from people that have success in an area we want to be successful in, we too are standing on the shoulders of giants.
We should actively seek out insight from people that are more successful than us and have experienced success in arenas we would like to be successful in.
Continuously seeking out how to increase our value allows us to add value to the world many times over.

He shoots!!! He Scores!!!

Hockey legend Wayne Gretzky: “I skate to where the puck is going to be, not to where it has been.”

Gretzky also said, “ You'll always miss 100% of the shots you don't take.”

In this new business millennium, innovative startup companies are critical to the success of all local, national and global economies.

There will be more bull markets.

History tells us that.

History also tells us that the time to build and invest in businesses is most opportune when the economy has reached a so called low point.

The only question is will you be riding the bull wave up when it comes, or just looking at it pass by.

Steve Young, former San Francisco 49er's star quarterback, now managing director of the private equity firm Huntsman Gay Global Capital once said that after he threw an interception, he would show accountability for his mistake to his teammates, then rally his troops to go win.

“The hard part is now, we’re going to go fix it. I screwed it up but now lets go to the sidelines , we’ll get a drink of water, we’ll rest up and we’ll go down and win the game, what do you say? And I’m going to lead you to do it…All this accountability came rushing in to this group of people because the guy that screwed it up was ultimately accountable,” remarks Young said from Stanford University's Entrepreneurship Corner.

Let’s go win the game!!

Let’s keep playing to win!, lets raise that new round of capital!, lets keep networking and helping each other!

Let’s hold ourselves accountable so we can help each other succeed!

Entrepreneurs are the future.

Let’s keep moving higher.

"I know we all want the U.S. to continue to be the world's center for innovation. But our position is at risk. There are many reasons for this but two stand out. First, U.S. companies face a severe shortfall of scientists and engineers with expertise to develop the next generation of breakthroughs. Second, we don't invest enough as a nation in the basic research needed to drive long-term innovation.

“If we don't reverse these trends, our competitive advantage will erode. Our ability to create new high-paying jobs will suffer,” remarks by Microsoft Founder Bill Gates before the committee on Science and Technology, March 12, 2008.

Inspiring Drummer

I was super duper inspired yesterday by a drummer that appeared on a television program featuring Dr. Wayne Dyer yesterday. His guest on the program had been severely burned and injured in a fire. His name is Dan Connor, and he is an awesome drummer. The fire left him with severe scarring on his face and basically without fingers. Despite all of this, Dan played a drum solo that was "off the chain" to show off his ability. He uses wristbands and rubberbands to hold the drumsticks and he played a drum solo that was "off the meter."

I was almost floored and extremely amazed after seeing this guy.

He helped reinforce in me that I have no excuse not to reach my God-given potential in my life.

We all have our own physical, spiritual, and mental demons we have to face and conquer to get to a higher level in our lives.

When Jesus was praying in the Garden of Gathsemene He was faced with such a heavy weight and contemplation from His impending crucifixion that He was sweating blood.

None of us has any excuses not to live our lives at an exceptional level. I don't want to be cliche', I want to keep it to the point. There are no excuses for any of us not reaching our full God-given potential in life.

We live in a cold world with a lot of cruel, nasty, ignorant people. The "haters" are there to help take us to a new dimension in life.

When Jesus was being taken away to His "trial" before he was crucified. He called Judas his "friend".

Jesus embraced His destiny. He had to go through the crucifixion (take a look at the movie Passion of The Christ) to save mankind and get back to the Right Hand of Father God.

In the same sense, we will be "crucified" in life in order to get to a new dimension in our lives.

When Jesus was resurrected He appeared on the earth in his new glorified body (he could walk through walls, no nail scars on his hands, etc), then He ascended to heaven.

The drummer I spoke of earlier literally went through fire and he has reached a higher plateau in life.

We all will have a fire in our lives that is designed ultimately to take us to a new, higher dimension in life.

The choice is ours to embrace our destiny and take the necessary steps to reach new highs in our lives.
